Reduce number of blocking network requests

At present uBid app very often connects to server, in particular, every time one gets to the main list of hands. For whatever reason it is sloooow, 10 to 30 seconds and it is blocking (“Please wait.”) Meanwhile, I may not need any new information at all - I just want to look on an old deal. It is really annoying.
